David K. Paylor – New Director of the Virginia DEQ
Last week, Robert G. Burnley, who served as the Director of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) since his appointment back in January of 2002, announced his retirement.
On January 16, 2006, our new Governor Timothy M. Kaine appointed
David K. Paylor as the new Director of the Virginia DEQ. Mr. Paylor has been involved with environmental protection agencies in Virginia for the last 30 years and is committed to finding balanced solutions to environmental problems. He served as Deputy Secretary of Natural Resources under Governor Mark R. Warner, and before that, he spent 25 years at the DEQ and a predecessor agency, the State Water Control Board.
