L.E. "Butch" Joyce Jr., P.E., founded Joyce Engineering, Inc. in 1983 as a landfill operations management firm. Today, Joyce Engineering, Inc. is a full-service solid waste management consulting firm. We specialize in providing engineering and environmental solutions for our clients; solid waste management is all we practice. From siting to post-closure management or environmental remediation, we provide expertise.
Our interest in the day-to-day operations of managing waste continues to this day and is evident in our engineering designs and site development plans. While historically known for our landfill engineering expertise, during the past decade Joyce Engineering, Inc. has developed a unique environmental team that specializes in site characterization for proposed landfills, environmental monitoring, and remediation of environmental impacts caused by landfilling activities.
In addition to our corporate office located at 1604 Ownby Lane, Richmond, Virginia, we maintain regional offices in Greensboro, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina. Our engineering and environmental teams serve a client base composed of local governments, private municipal solid waste operators, regional waste authorities, and private industrial operators.
